Just One for Austin

Austin Kane is a young man from Madison Maine. He graduated from HS last year and in December he started basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonia,TX. Within a short time of being there, he had flu like symptoms and went to the base clinic. Because of his symptoms, the base doctor ran more tests on him.┬áHe soon received the scary news that he had Hodgkins Lymphoma stage 2-A. Imagine getting this news and being all alone, so far from home. His mother and grandmother are now with him, but he is still so far away from his family and support system. Austin’s treatments will take about 4-6 months to complete and he will be having his treatments right in Texas.
When our Aliza passed away, my sister in-law Kristen felt helpless being so far away from us in California. She wanted to do something to help comfort us and help us through such a difficult time. Kristen came up with the idea of JUST ONE. The idea of JUST ONE was for people to send us letters that included just one word or one phrase in memory of Aliza and just one dollar. The hundreds of letters we received were so uplifting to us and the money helped us start The Aliza Jean Family Cancer Foundation
We would like to create that same feeling for this young man and his mom, who are fighting this battle so far from home. No one fights alone and I hope with your help we can show this family we all are thinking and praying for them.
JUST ONE word or one phrase of encouragement and one dollar.
